Las pinturas que forman parte de la serie surgen de la reflexión tanto de consideraciones técnicas como de significado que la narrativa del mural político callejero ha instalado en torno a conceptos como la identidad visual del país, o parte de él. Reconociendo el fenómeno como una expresión gráfica tan vinculada a lo local y a lo político durante décadas, es posible establecer, desde ese lugar, un diálogo con el proceso político actual en Chile, con lo contemporáneo a escala local, desde una revisión de conceptos y visualidades a partir de la mano. El puño es una mano cerrada, una mano constrictora, una mano arma. El puño también nos lleva a puñado, que es una medida-cuerpo. Para recibir y después soltar lo que puede contener ese puño es necesario abrir la mano. Qué puede venir después: las notas de una guitarra que ya no sostiene el gesto, o piedra papel o tijera, o la mano en transición, o la mano como significado abierto. ¿O volver a cerrar por causas nuevas en un entorno cambiante?
